This is me!
This is me!

Hi, I’m Zoe. I am a teacher with over eighteen years experience in schools and colleges. My love of patchwork and quilting began when I was a teenager, watching my Mum create stunning quilts using traditional techniques passed down through generations. As I grew older, I became more interested learning more intricate myself, and began experimenting with different patterns, fabrics, and techniques.

Today, I am proud to share my passion for quilting with others and am here to help you create your perfect quilt.

I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Patchwork and Quilting in person and online for the last 5 years. You might have seen my work featured on Create and Craft, Hochanda, and Crafter’s TV, or in Sew Inspired magazine and more recently the US online magazines We Like Sewing and We Like Quilting.

I started my first quilt in January and lock down hit us all in April.  Zoe produced a block pattern each week together with a video and I managed to finish a king size quilt with just the videos.

This block {Mariner's Compass} was quite challenging, but by following the excellent video tutorial I achieved a block that I thought I would not be able to do.

The classes continued with Zoe's videos arriving each week. The videos were very easy to follow, every step included, and by the end of covid I had completed my first sampler quilt.

I made many of the videos used in this course when the Community Centres, Village and Church Halls had to close in 2020 and I couldn’t teach my lovely students face to face. I’ve had such positive feedback about them, I wanted to put them together in a beginners quilting course.

I want you to have a fun and rewarding experience and to improve your skills, learning new techniques by taking part in Bootcamp.

You will focus on a specific technique with each block. Using a Quilt As You Go technique, there will be no wrestling your quilt under your machine. It will be a great source of inspiration for your future quilting projects. You can get in touch with me and other quilters in our Quilting Community where you can ask for help if you need it and show off your creations.

Mis-matched seams means your quilt might fall apart after the first wash!

You can create a beautiful quilt that you will cherish for years to come, learning skills as you go at your own pace.

Learning these skills at my in-person classes would cost £150-180 ($190-$230).

The cost for my online course is just £57 (~$73).

The course is split into 5 chapters. Each chapter has lessons containing information about basic techniques, videos and written instructions for each block or pdf guides.

Chapter 1

Includes a welcome from me, an introduction to quilting and quilting terms for you to refer to, a goals sheet for the course should you want to use it and a notes page.

Chapter 2

All about equipment, basic techniques and how to get accurate results by starting with precise cutting, piecing, pressing and fixing machine problems!

Chapter 3

This is where you will start to make the blocks for your quilt. Starting with simpler blocks, that still look stunning (and complicated to the untrained eye), you will find out how to make a series of blocks using different cutting, folding and piecing techniques. The techniques include disappearing blocks, 3D patches, making your own fusible bias tape, using fusible adhesive, machine and hand applique (using a twin needle on your machine) and Foundation Paper Piecing.

Chapter 4

Here, you will start to put your quilt together. I will show you how to add the sashing to each block before layering it up and quilting it. You will join your blocks, add and quilt the borders before binding your quilt.

Chapter 5
